‘Ali Qleibo

Dr. Qleibo was born in Jerusalem.

He received his PhD in Cultural Anthropology in the USA. Dr. Qleibo is an author, artist, and lecturer. He is presently the director of the Department of Fine Arts at Al-Quds University (Jerusalem). Dr. Qleibo lectures on Muslim religion and Palestinian culture locally and internationally.

 

His books and artwork have taken him all over the world. His book “Before the Mountains Disappear” is an ethnographic description of everyday Palestinian life. Another book “Jerusalem in the Heart” recently published in English, is a cultural guide to Jerusalem. His painting “Double Window” was the first Palestinian artwork chosen by UNICEF. His work is kept in private collections in all over the world.

 

Jerusalem is Qleibo’s major source of inspiration and is reflected in his literally and artistic work.
